Member of Parliament for Ochil and South Perthshire, John Nicolson, has launched an online consultation for local businesses on COVID recovery.

In a statement to businesses across Clackmannanshire, Kinross-shire and south Perthshire, Mr Nicolson said,

“We live in unprecedented times, hammered by the ongoing impact of Covid,  the economic harm caused by Brexit, and the impact of Russia’s brutal invasion of Ukraine.  They’ve all combined to increase the cost of living, affecting almost all of us.

“When I was elected, I promised to be the most accessible Member of Parliament Ochil and South Perthshire had ever known. And I have been determined to make good on that promise.

“Surgeries have always been a vital aspect of the work of an MP, and I was eager for that to continue even during the pandemic. My team and I worked to create an automated ‘virtual surgery’ booking system, giving constituents and local businesses the opportunity to make appointments to meet me by zoom or over the phone to discuss issues and ask me for help as your Member of Parliament. Those who want to meet me can select a time, date and preferred method of contact on my website.

“You can book a one-to-one meeting with me at www.osp.scot/surgeries/

“As restrictions have eased in Scotland, I have had the opportunity to visit many of the businesses in Clackmannanshire, Perthshire and Kinross-shire. I am glad to see so many begin to recover. But I know that for many others times are still tough.

“To help give you the opportunity to tell me how your business is coping, I have launched a COVID Business Recovery Survey on my website. I would be grateful if you would take the time to answer a handful of questions.

“You can find the survey at www.osp.scot/surveys/.

“As ever, my team and I remain available to listen to your concerns and support you however we can. Do not hesitate to get in touch.”
