SNP MP recounts experience of a gay, Afghan teacher who tried and failed to escape Afghanistan as Kabul fell and the Taliban took over.

This evening in parliament, during a debate on LGBTQ+ Afghan refugees, I recounted the experience of a gay, Afghan teacher who tried and failed to escape Afghanistan as Kabul fell and the Taliban took over. Thank you to Openly, the LGBT+ news website from Thomson Reuters Foundation, for alerting me to his plight. I asked the UK Government minister to take his story back to the Home Office and dwell on it.
